AN UNFORGETTABLE ADVENTURE ALONG THE GULF OF OROSEI

known as the most challenging trek in Italy, the Selvaggio "Wild" blu is a complex route suspended between rock and sky along the Sardinian coastline. A narrow 40-kilometre trail immersed in the wild nature of the Supramonte. A taste for adventure, solid hiking experience and a reasonable level of fitness are required for this trek. Some alpine-style sections are present, all of which will be safely managed by the Mountain Guide.

Unique and unconventional, Selvaggio Blu demands a few sacrifices in terms of comfort: nights are spent outdoors and backpacks are substantial. These small hardships are rewarded by an experience that is hard to forget — a reset for the spirit and a return to the essentials.

This long and complex route allows you to move through a wild, isolated environment, far from roads and any human presence. Five days immersed in surreal landscapes, suspended between the sea and towering rock pillars.

Starting in Santa Maria Navarrese, the itinerary winds into the dense Mediterranean scrub, crossing breathtaking places such as the natural coves of Porto Pedrosu and Porto Cuau, the famous Cala Goloritzè, the rugged Bacu Modarolu, and the delightful Cala Biriola.

The return is arranged by boat. Food supplies and water reserves will be pre-positioned by the Mountain Guide.

Day 1 – Meeting in Santa Maria Navarrese (NU)

Meeting at the selected B&B in the morning. Introduction with the guide, briefing and equipment check. Planning of food supplies to be prepared for the various stages. Please remember that this trek involves sleeping à la belle étoile — open-air bivouacs without tents or shelters. A true return to the basics.
Overnight in a B&B.

Day 2 – From Pedra Longa to Porto Cuau

After breakfast, a 4x4 transfer takes us to Pedra Longa, at the base of the iconic pinnacle — the last outpost of civilisation. From here the Selvaggio Blu begins. We follow a faint trail, first flat and then climbing. Along old charcoal-burners’ paths, we ascend towards Punta Giràrdili and reach Ginnirco (800 m).
After a well-deserved break, we continue along ancient paths through junipers and low scrub until we return to the coastline near the incredible natural inlets of Porto Pedrosu and Porto Cuau, where we will camp for the night.

After a refreshing swim, we prepare dinner together by the fire.

Day 3 – From Porto Cuau to Cala Goloritzè

After watching the sunrise from our sleeping bags, we enjoy a hearty breakfast. A long and adventurous day awaits.

The first part of the stage follows the edge of impressive cliffs, rising more than 200 metres above the sea. We then head inland to tackle a steep, winding ascent leading to Punta Salinas. The view from here is astonishing and reveals the continuation of our route for the coming days. Descending from Punta Salinas, we soon reach the renowned Cala Goloritzè.

Day 4 – From Cala Goloritzè to Cala Mariolu

We leave the enchanting Cala Goloritzè and climb over rocky terrain to reach the start of the Goloritzè via ferrata, suspended above crystal-clear waters. The view is incredible and rewards the effort required by the technical passages. Once in the Ispuligidenie woodland, we continue among junipers and shrubs until reaching the beautiful Cala Mariolu, also known as Ispuligidenie.

Day 5 – From Cala Mariolu to Cala Biriola

A panoramic traverse full of satisfaction, featuring thrilling abseils and unforgettable views of the sea, brings us to the picturesque Cala Biriola. Return to Santa Maria Navarrese by boat, offering the chance to admire the entire trek from the water.
