Nambino Lake hike
Level: Beginner
Daily drop: + 100 m
A short but atmospheric hike, perfect for those looking to spend a day outdoors without too much effort, in one of the most beautiful corners of western Trentino.
Starting from Patascoss, a meadow easily reachable by car from Madonna di Campiglio, a well-marked forest trail leads in less than an hour to the scenic Lake Nambino. The path is easy, gently uphill, and winds through larch and spruce woods — ideal even for those who aren't used to hiking or for families with children.
Once you arrive, the view is striking. A peaceful walk around the lake’s shores offers glimpses of the Brenta Dolomites, sometimes reflected in the water, with charming scenes framed by the trees.
A stop at Rifugio Nambino, right on the lake’s edge, is highly recommended. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, a welcoming spot where you can slow down, take in the views, and enjoy a homemade meal or dessert.
You can return the same way you came, or opt for a slightly longer loop route that takes you back to Patascoss along a different trail — still easy and suitable for everyone.
For more experienced walkers, it’s also possible to start the hike directly from Madonna di Campiglio, heading uphill toward Patascoss on foot. This option adds some elevation gain and distance, but the trail remains pleasant and fully immersed in nature.
